Luis Shirley is the Managing Partner of Shirley &
Associates, as well as the founder of Shirley
Trust Company Limited.
Education: Luis Shirley obtained his LL.B. from the University
of Panama, School of Law in 1964, graduating sigma lambda.
His thesis "Termination of Labour Contracts" prepared him for
future achievements in Labour Law practice. He was admitted to
the bar by the Supreme Court of Panama in 1964.
Areas of Practice: Further to his specialisation in
Labour Law, Mr. Shirley is an expert in Corporate Law, Maritime Law and
Civil Litigation.
Background: Luis Shirley was Professor of Political
Science at the University of Panama, School of Law, from 1975 to 1998.
Mr. Shirley was President of the Delegation of the Republic of Panama
to the Annual Conference of the International Labour
Organisation for 1972-1975. During this period Luis Shirley
was also Assistant Minister of Labour.
Mr. Shirley is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
